The TASS lecture, which explores the vision which created the V&A and still drives it forward, will be held at the 37 Club, Woolavington at 2:00pm on Wednesday 5th February: guest admission £8. The talk will precede the Society’s AGM.
Burnham-on-Sea and District Horticultural Society’s next meeting is on Monday 20th January at the Community Centre, Berrow Road, Burnham-on-Sea with guest SPEAKER Joy Hutchings on floral demonstrations. Doors open at 7:00pm. Come and enjoy a tea/coffee and a chat before the meeting starting at 7:30pm. All welcome members £1. Visitors £2.
Brent Knoll Christmas Bazaar, Farmers’ Market & Parish Café. Saturday 14th December at Brent Knoll Parish Hall (TA9 4EH), 10:00am to 12 noon. The Parish Café will be serving seasonal drinks, light snacks & Cakes. Entrance FREE. Proceeds to Brent Knoll Parish Hall.
The Weston-super-Mare local Macular Society group covering Weston, Clevedon, Winscombe, Burnham and surrounding areas meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month 10:30am to 12:30pm at St Peter’s Church Hall, Baytree Road, Weston-super-Mare BS22 8HG.
The group is for anyone affected by central vision loss AMD wet or dry. New programme of talks from helpful organisations and local interest such as RNIB and Birnbeck pier.
Cost £3 including refreshments. Friends and carers most welcome.
Do you like singing or play an instrument, e.g., a flute, clarinet, or stringed instrument? Come and join our small monthly music and singing group.
We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month in the hall at Our Lady and English Martyrs Church, Burnham Road, Burnham-on-Sea. 5:15pm to 6:15pm.
We sing and play a variety of modern and traditional religious music.
Dates for the spring term 11th January, 8th February, 8th March and 12th April. No charge.
Spring Term for B&HCS Starting Thursday 9th January. Anyone who enjoy singing, this is a wonderful opportunity to join B&HCS for their Spring term, to sing the Messiah with them at their concert in April.
They meet every Thursday 7:30pm to 9:30pm with a coffee/tea break in between. Held at the Methodist Church Hall, College Street, Burnham. All levels of singers are welcome, especially tenor and bass voices. There are no auditions, and if you read music, that is a bonus, but it’s not necessary.
