A dementia friendly space with a short service of well loved hymns and prayers. Followed by tea, sandwiches & cake all donated by our lovely volunteers.
Open to all. St Andrews Church service starts 2:30pm, doors open at 2:00pm. Every 3rd Thursday of the Month. Thursday 16th January this month.
Burnham Area Flower Club start this year off with our AGM on Tuesday 14th January at The Catholic Church Hall, Oxford Street, Burnham on Sea. Doors will open at 7:00pm with meeting starting at 7:30pm. There will be a short AGM followed by an interesting talk by Carol Greenslade, the head gardener of Hestercombe Estate. Ending the evening with light refreshments. We have got an exciting calendar lined up for you all for 2025.
Brent Knoll Bazaar, Farmers’ Market & Parish Café, Saturday 11th January at Brent Knoll Parish Hall (TA9 4EH) – 10:00am to 12 noon. The Parish Café will be serving drinks, light snacks & Cakes. Entrance FREE. Proceeds to Brent Knoll Parish Hall.
Do you like singing or play an instrument, e.g., a flute, clarinet, or stringed instrument? Come and join our small monthly music and singing group.
We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month in the hall at Our Lady and English Martyrs Church, Burnham Road, Burnham-on-Sea. 5:15pm to 6:15pm.
We sing and play a variety of modern and traditional religious music.
Dates for the spring term 11th January, 8th February, 8th March and 12th April. No charge.
New – Open community session, 2nd Saturday in the month 2:15pm – 3:30pm. A warm space to meet and talk to others. Free of charge.
Try different activities – Board games, art and craft, card games, jigsaws, word searches or crosswords (in a quiet area). Table tennis (in the main hall), skittles and soft dart games if interest.
Conclude with quiet reflection which includes music, a short bible reading and prayer in the church for 10 minutes before returning home.
West Huntspill Horticultural Society will be holding our AGM at 7.00pm on Friday January 10th 2025 at the Methodist Church, West Huntspill, followed by a committee meeting at 7:30pm.
Please come along if you are interested in getting involved with the society, or just helping at events, which organises the annual summer Flower Show and other events during the year.

On Wednesday 8th January Larry Bennett will give a presentation about the local maritime radio stations entitled ‘Portishead Radio’.
The time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm; the venue: King Alfred School Lecture Theatre.
Come and join us, bowl away the January blues and try something different! After our Christmas break we recommence bowling on Monday 6th January meeting at 1:45pm at the Balliol Hall, Church Road, West Huntspill TA9 3RN. Our bowling time is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm but we break for refreshments mid session.
The first 3 sessions are free and includes refreshments of a cuppa and biscuit, we welcome new players both experienced and beginners.
Spring Term for B&HCS Starting Thursday 9th January. Anyone who enjoy singing, this is a wonderful opportunity to join B&HCS for their Spring term, to sing the Messiah with them at their concert in April.
They meet every Thursday 7:30pm to 9:30pm with a coffee/tea break in between. Held at the Methodist Church Hall, College Street, Burnham. All levels of singers are welcome, especially tenor and bass voices. There are no auditions, and if you read music, that is a bonus, but it’s not necessary.
Burnham Community Centre’s Monthly Coffee Morning Welcomes You.
We have our first coffee morning of 2025 on Saturday 4th January from 10:00am – 12 noon, at the Community Centre, next door to the swimming pool TA8 1ET.
Funds are in aid of the centre, and is used by many local groups in the area.
Tea/coffee, (free refill) cakes, raffle, crafts, and hand painted cards are available.
